Friend of the Sea is the only certification scheme which has deployed an International Monitoring Program to verify the Chain of Custody of approved suppliers of Friend of the Sea products.

 

Monitors currently based in Costa Rica, Morocco, Philippines and Sri Lanka cover now all continents, running scheduled spot-checks at harbors, cold stores, factories and supermarket shelves.

 

Friend of the Sea monitors verify that products carrying the Friend of the Sea logo actually originate from the approved fisheries and aquaculture origins and that no mixing occurs.
